The Hong Kong based Vodafone operator Smartone has launched HelpNow, a concierge service aimed at helping users in an emergency. While it is geared up for general help – such as lost passports and accidents, there is an emphasis on helping seniors.
The service is contacted through an app on iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows but is also supported on the Emporia Elegance, senior phone.
HelpNow fits between services like Vertu’s Quintessentially and the traditional emergency button pendant services offered by Buddi and Tunstall.
Users subscribe to the service for HK$78 a month (about £6), which connects them with an operator.
There isn’t a specific list of services on the Smartone website but you can read about it here
